Our Mission
We exist to reduce crime in Stafford County by providing a safe, anonymous channel for citizens to share information about criminal activity. Through cash reward incentives and community outreach, we help law enforcement solve cases that might otherwise go unsolved.
Our History
Crime Stoppers of Stafford County Inc was established as a Kansas nonprofit corporation and received IRS recognition as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization in November 2008. Since then, we have served the residents of Stafford County ??including the communities of St. John, Stafford, Hudson, Macksville, and surrounding areas.
Our program follows the model used by more than 1,000 Crime Stoppers programs worldwide, combining citizen involvement, media partnerships, and law enforcement cooperation to fight crime.
How We Are Funded
Crime Stoppers of Stafford County Inc is funded entirely through private donations from concerned citizens, local businesses, and civic organizations. No tax dollars are used to support this program. Donations pay for:
- Tip line operations and communications
- Cash rewards for anonymous informants
- Community awareness and outreach materials
- Program administration by volunteer board members
Law Enforcement Partnership
We work in cooperation with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, located at 209 North Broadway, St. John, Kansas. The Sheriff's Office is the lead law enforcement agency for Stafford County and assists with evaluating tips and determining reward eligibility.
Crime Stoppers is not a police program ??it is an independent, citizen-led nonprofit that supports law enforcement through community engagement.
